Founded in 1832, The Royal is one of the most historic hotels on the Isle of Wight, and one of its finest to this day. Originally built as a coaching inn called Fishers Hotel, it became known as The Royal Hotel after enjoying Queen Victoria's patronage.

The Geranium Restaurant
This opulent dining room, with it’s crystal chandeliers, high ceiling and ornate décor, makes a suitably grand location to hold an unforgettable wedding.
This beautiful dining room has full length French doors which lead out onto it’s own geranium terrace and gardens.
This room is located on the ground floor and can accommodate up to 120 guests for a ceremony only, and up to 150 for a wedding breakfast.
The Geranium Restaurant is available for private hire from November – February. It is also available as the main dining room in our exclusive hire packages which are available throughout the year.
The Albert Room
This intimate yet glamorous function room is the perfect setting for an intimate and romantic wedding.
This private space leads out onto the hotel’s stunning gardens and is in close proximity of the main bar. Accommodating up to 40 guests for both a ceremony and reception, it enables you to enjoy this special day with your loved ones.
The Albert Room is available all year round excluding August, Christmas, New Year and bank holiday weekends.
Accommodation
With influences varying from Art Deco to Country Manor, all rooms at the Royal Hotel have an elegant polish. The entire hotel exudes laid-back luxury from times gone by. Organic Voya treatments are offered in the rooms; fluffy gowns and a range of toiletries are provided. The Deluxe and Premier rooms offer the best views of the sea and gardens.
