This walk is a very short and easy meander, offering beautiful views of the English Channel and Ventnor Bay.
Park at the far end of La Falaise Carpark and exit the western end of the carpark onto a wide tarmac path
You can't miss the VENTNOR sign along the way. It was created using white painted rocks which are set into the grass and designed to be visible from the sea. It's so visible that it was removed during WWII as it made a too helpful visual reference point for enemy bombing raids on the Island. It was reinstated many years later.
The ground up here is reasonably flat but elevated so you can enjoy constant sea views and looking down the length of Ventnor Bay to the east. There are plenty of wooden benches up here, so your companion(s) can sit and enjoy the view too.
A path a short distance from the VENTNOR sign takes you up to a grassy level just above the sign. It's a gradual climb, rather than a short steep one. Up here you may come across the Dinosaur Labyrinth, a mini maze painted on the grass.
You can take the tarmac path a little further uphill, but eventually it will become too narrow to navigate. In anycase, you would meet a number of flights of steps that go down to Steephill Cove.
