Lin has clocked up many miles walking all over the Island and blogs about them on her website.
WALK 48
Ventnor Park to Ventnor West Station - 3.75 miles / 1.5 hours
St Boniface Down is the highest point on the island at 241 metres high, covered in holm oak on the southern lower slopes, while the upper area is mixture of grass and heathland; at this time of year it has large tracts of yellow gorse, whilst in summer the purple heather dominates.
You can start the walk anywhere along route, but this walk starts at Old Station Road in Ventnor before heading up Downs Lane to the downs. Or there is parking up on the downs near Ventnor Radar Station.
REFRESHMENTS: The walk passes The Bonchurch Inn, which is a lovely pub to stop at for a comfort break and refreshment.
NOTE: THE SMUGGLER'S TEAROOM, MENTIONED IN LIN'S WALK, IS NO LONGER OPEN DUE TO A LANDSLIP IN 2023.
The link below will take you to the walk in detail on Lin's website.
