Bonchurch is a small village to the East of Ventnor, on the southern part of the Isle of Wight. It is situated on The Undercliff, which itself is subject to regular landslips.

A large section of the settlement is found in Upper Bonchurch, halfway up St Boniface Down on the main A3055 road. A nearby Site of Special Scientific Interest is actually named Bonchurch Landslips (or "The Landslip"). Bonchurch is one of the oldest settlements on the Isle of Wight with a wealth of historic associations with famous Victorian authors and illustrators.

The Bonchurch Community Association
The BCA aims to use its voluntary contributions to enhance the village by planting and various other features to make the experience of the residents and visitors more pleasurable. The association also provides social events to enable villagers to meet and thereby strengthen the community spirit.

Every resident in Bonchurch is automatically a member of the Community Association and they are all welcome to take part in, and help with, the association's activities.

A committee is elected in the autumn to plan and implement the BCA's events.

Regular Village Events
Bonchurch has a number of annual events organised by the Bonchurch Community Association.

  • Picnic on the Green (May)
  • Open Gardens (July)
  • Carols Round the Pond (December)
  • Christmas Lights Switch On (December)

Check the Bonchurch Village Facebook page for news in the village, and upcoming events.
