Hear ye! Hear ye! Meet William Nixon - the Isle of Wight's newest town crier.
Ventnor's distinguished and infamous resident, Will Nixon, has taken up the role of Ventnor's Town Crier, making him the only town crier on the Island. Traditionally, the role was by royal appointment, and town criers were servants only to the King.
This honorary role will see Will proclaim the news of the week to the people of Ventnor, and appear at various events across the Island.
Will was in the Royal Navy and always wanted to be a drill instructor. Locals will agree his lungs are certainly up for the job, with Will a keen am-dram celebrity. When colourful people do colourful things, it's a good thing, and Will is certainly colourful, dressed in Highland tartan from his family's ancestral clan.

The role for the town of Ventnor is a voluntary one, but William is available for hire at your event or festival, for a small fee. He will certainly make an entrance, as he is in his element when performing.
