ABOUT
Originally a shop in Ventnor called The Island Wine Company, our business has grown over the years and is now operates out of a large bar in Niton. Later called Wight and Wessex Wines Ltd, the company rebranded as Wight Wines. We are now a wholesaler, offering wine and spirits to establishments across the Island. We also own Winebulance which offers smaller quantities direct to the public.
OUR WINES
With unrivalled access to thousands of wines from some of the UK’s top wine importers, you can be sure that we have the right wines for your wine list, ensuring that they pair well with your food offering and suit your venue.
We have exclusive distribution agreements for the Isle of Wight with many of our wine partners, this way you can be sure that the wines you choose from us are not widely available in other businesses across the Isle of Wight.
In the ever changing world in which we live, sustainability has become increasingly important and most of our wines are produced or bottled in a sustainable manner – as such we highlight this when quoting.
SUSTAINABLE SPIRITS
We also have exclusive distribution rights for the IOW with The Sustainable Spirits Company. Founded in 2012, they specialise in producing high quality and environmentally friendly spirits.
All of their products are handmade, using artisan, ethical processes. They don’t use any artificial additives or flavourings and are fundamental about reducing unnecessary packaging.
All of the spirits are available in Eco-Pouches, 2.8L poly-laminate pouches which can be used to refill the beautiful silk-screen printed “bottles-for-life”. This results in a dramatic decrease in unnecessary packaging and wastage, as well as saving on unnecessary expenditure on glass bottles, which are otherwise thrown away.
As of 2019, they have saved over 300,000 bottles from being thrown away, enough to cover 33 tennis courts. Over 200,000kg of carbon dioxide savings have also been made since introducing their unique Eco-refill concept.
LOW & NO ALC OFFERINGS
Now the fastest growing category in the drinks industry, it is more important than ever to have a decent low and no alcohol offerings. Alongside a variety of alcohol free wines, we also stock a premium range of fruit juices from Pago, Mother Root Switchels (great for mocktails), and Lucky Saint – the UK’s #1 independent alcohol-free beer brand.
DELIVERY
Our minimum order is just 12 bottles (which can be mixed). Orders can be placed via phone 01983 853 978 or email orders@wightwines.com before 10am from Monday to Saturday. This same day, six day service allows you to be in control of your stock holding, freeing up cash flow and keeping stock fresh.
