History
Designed by an Italian Architect, Villa Amanti was built circa 1840's around the same time as Queen Victoria's Osborne House. Villa Amanti is a very good example of the Italianate style of architecture that was very fashionable in the mid nineteenth century. The Italianate style of the late Regency and early Victorian era drew heavily from the motifs of the buildings of the Italian Renaissance.
