Every Easter Saturday Ventnor holds a Duck Race which takes place in the spring-fed stream at Flowersbrook Meadow in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight.
The day normally starts at around 11am, with the first race at 11.15am.
Over 300 ducks are tipped into the steam in batches. Each duck has a number and you can 'buy' a number. A prize is given to the winning duck in each batch. There are also prizes for the duck which came last!
It's always great fun for all the family and raises vital funds for the Ventnor Enhancement Fund to continue their work in the town. In the days leading up to the race, Ventnor Enhancement Fund tidy the stream and pond of anything that might prevent the plastic ducks swimming merrily down stream.
