Ventnor Comic Jazz Band is a vital part of Ventnor's (and the Island's) Carnival, providing what has been described as ‘Music, Mirth and Mayhem’ for over 100 years. In 2022, the band were invited to represent the South of England in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant in London.
When not playing for royalty, they play for the Island, and sample many a pub's liquid wares along the way.
There are three basic rules for the band...
1) You’re not allowed to drink.
2) You must practise.
3) You must ignore rule 1 and 2.
It’s quite simple. If you can’t follow those rules you don’t get in.
