Do you dream of staying in a luxury holiday home by the sea? Would there be sea views from every window and garden terrace? Would the house be filled with beautiful things, a real home to rent for your perfect British seaside break?
Perhaps you imagine walking to the beach in minutes, or strolling into a seaside town with beachside bars, shops and restaurants. Maybe you’d like coastal walks that start at your doorstep. All of this you’ll find at Seagrass, our contemporary Isle of Wight holiday home in Ventnor.
We hope, like us, you’ll love the main living space, with its wall of glass and double-height ceiling that arches towards the sky. It’s open-plan for relaxing and dining, cooking, watching TV or just gazing at the waves. Throw open the bi-fold doors to the level decking, double your living space and let in the sound of the sea.
On the decking, you are greeted by 180-degree views of the English Channel, the world’s busiest waterway. The seascape is dotted with cruise liners and fishing vessels, cargo ships and sailing boats – a living picture of sky and ocean that invigorates the senses.
Whether you’re travelling as a family or looking for a romantic get-away, Seagrass has two modern bedrooms which can be configured for couples or children. Your well-behaved dog is welcome, too. There are two stylish shower rooms, one en-suite. All the beds have top quality mattresses and Egyptian cotton bedlinen. Wake up to uninterrupted sea views from the enormous picture windows.
Seagrass sits on a quiet residential street, a peaceful retreat from the world but less than five minutes’ walk to the nearest fish and chip shop or English pub. Choose from three outdoor spaces: the private, sea-facing, landscaped garden with BBQ patio – enclosed and safe for children and pets – a separate G&T terrace, or the decking which extends from the living room, facing south for day-long sunshine.
This is a real home created by a real family – we love to stay here too. With my training in interior design, I’ve tried to provide every comfort for guests: from Danish “candle” lights that add a warm glow in the evenings, to modern art and photography showcasing the talents of artists around the island. There are binoculars for ship-spotting and maps to help you get around. There’s Netflix on tap and a Blu-Ray player. Your welcome hamper is stocked with locally-sourced products, grown and made on the Isle of Wight.
Seagrass has off-road parking for two cars and if you choose, you can leave them right there. Ventnor has everything you need for a family week away or short break by the sea…
