Far Out Retreat is a small boutique adults-only holiday destination in St Lawrence, Isle of Wight, boasting stunning sea views over Binnel Bay. The site is south-facing and nestled between the cliffs and the sea, in Undercliff Drive, a no through road.
There are 4 rentable static caravans to choose from, which are comfortable for 2 people and cosy for 4. Each has its own garden and sea views. The caravans have been named after crystals and precious stones and you can lay in bed and watch the sea, hear the waves and observe birds of prey and boats.
The site has sensitive tiered landscaping, wildflowers and decking, which has enhanced this naturally beautiful site with its unique and diverse micro-climate. The peace and tranquility leaves guests feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Far Out Caravan retreat is the perfect place for a get away from your daily hectic life. Suited to nature lovers, cyclists, and walkers. There is WiFi available at the top of the park, but we encourage a digital detox.
Booking prices are based on booking 1 caravan for 4 people. Please enquire for larger groups or booking multiple caravans.
There used to be 12 caravans on site, but the lower tier has been demolished to open up the views and make it a more exclusive site.
NOTE
The road is closed one end, so the caravan park is only accessible via Niton. The Ventnor end is accessed on foot, or bike. It's ideal for a quiet escape away from the masses. Ideal for cyclists, or electric bikes can be arranged with advanced notice. Bookings of large groups can only be made by prior arrangement, as it's important that no partying takes place, to respect the neighbours. There are other more suitable locations if you are looking to party.
There is a large free carpark and access to a dedicated laundry room with high end washer dryers.
LOCATION
A peaceful setting only a 10-minute walk from Binnel Bay and 25 minutes from Woody Bay. Ventnor's shops, restaurants and attractions are within a 10 minute drive. Binnel Bay is a quiet, rocky bay which has good access to the Isle of Wight’s many coastal walking trails. Woody Bay has large pebbles and high cliffs, accessible down a small trail from the Isle of Wight Coastal Path. There are tremendous country walks around.
CARAVANS
There are 4 caravans to choose from, each with their own garden space. The caravans are named after crystals and semi-precious stones and decorated in the colours of their namesake. Across the site, expect stunning sunrises, sunsets and views of woodlands or boats out to sea.
Citrine [WEB LINK]
Citrine is located in a premium position on an elevated double plot with a private garden, luxury outside furniture and stunning views of the bay. The garden is completely private and is ideal for BBQ's or private sunbathing. You can see the waves crashing over Binnel Bay and St Catherine's Lighthouse flashing in the distance. It's one of the more open plan caravans with the 2nd bedroom converted into a small dressing area or work space. It has an open plan lounge-kitchen, with gas cooker and fire. There is a small comfortable double bed and a simple retro shower room.
Aquamarine [WEB LINK]
Aqua marine has gorgeous sea views, with the famous Undercliff as a backdrop. There are 2 bedrooms consisting of a small double and a twin. It is comfortably decorated in colours that fit the name of its crystal - aqua marine - with a retro twist. It has a self contained kitchen with microwave and gas oven and open plan seating area with sea views.
Amber [WEB LINK]
Amber has a retro orange interior with fab sea views. It has an open plan lounge kitchen dining room and 2 private bedrooms and a small bathroom.
Moonstone [WEB LINK]
Moonstone is tastefully decorated in pastel shades and has a beautiful corner aspect of the woods and the sea, where you can watch the boats and the moon reflecting on the water. Listen to bird song & waves. It's comfortable for 2 people and has a separate dressing room area which we set up with a single bed.
