ABOUT CHAMPAGNE+FROMAGE
Champagne+Fromage opened its doors in Covent Garden in 2011 and since then it's been an institution. All products are sourced exclusively from small independent producers in France to deliver a magical paired experience.
Champagne+Fromage is more than just a restaurant; it's a journey through the heart of France's culinary traditions. The concept is simple yet sophisticated, offering an exquisite pairing of Champagne and artisanal cheeses. It's a place where friends and family enjoy the finest delicacies in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Champagne+Fromage want to change the perception that Champagne is for celebration only. Champagne is wine, and as such, can be enjoyed anytime, by itself or with a meal. It's the perfect pairing with cheese, much more than red or white wine.
Champagne+Fromage champions Grower Champagne, which is made entirely by producers in their own vineyards, as opposed to blending grapes together from different vineyards to create a generic house style, so it truly reflects the subtleties of the terroir.
THE CHAMPAGNE+FROMAGE MENU
The menu at The Wellington Hotel will highlight the coastal location and includes Ventnor Bay Crab, Oysters and a Seafood Platter as well as Garlic and Chilli Prawns. Classic Champagne & Fromage dishes will also feature from a Wild Boar Terrine to Figs & Thyme Camembert, Raclette & Cured Meat or Truffle and a creamy Fondue for two to share.
The champagne menu features six Grower-Champagnes by the glass, and a Tasting Flight of three styles for £32. There are nine Classic Brut bottles such as Colin Alliance and Lacroix Authentique, three Rose, three Blanc De Noirs, three Blanc De Blancs and four Vintage including Colin, Millesime 2012. Half bottles can also be enjoyed.
A curated Champagne Cocktail list will feature classics such as a 'French 75' (Champagne, Gin, Lemon) to a 'Bulles Peche' (Vodka, Peach, Lemon, Champagne) and of course a traditional 'Bellini' (Champagne, Peach Puree). Guests can also enjoy an 'Old Fashioned', 'Negroni', and the house special 'The Wellington Martini' (Vanilla Vodka, Passion Fruit Liqueur, Chambord Raspberry Liqueur, Passion Fruit and Lime Juice), as well as bottled beer, cider and soft drinks.
