Bishops Retreat is located in the heart of the seaside town, close to the local shops and many eating out places. There are attractions nearby including a heritage centre uncovering the heritage of the town as well as botanic garden that has an impressive collection of exotic plants and trees.
The beach is close by and is nestled in the bay beneath the Victorian town with bars and restaurants on the promenade. For those looking to explore the surrounding areas of Ventnor, the coastal path offers a scenic route for walkers, while cyclists can enjoy the Round the Island route, both are excellent ways to discover the Isle of Wight’s coastline.

Bishops Retreat has been awarded Gold in the 2024 Sykes Gem Awards for Best in South Coast England and the Isle of Wight. The apartment has been refurbished to preserve the church’s original character features, which incorporating luxurious touches that create a modern, contemporary feel.
Spacious living area
Bishops Retreat sleeps 5 people with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. This elegant apartment provides an open plan living space that is ideal for a group of friends or family to relax after a day of exploring. There is a sofa in the lounge area that can be converted into a sofa bed for an extra guest.
The kitchen is well equipped with an induction hob, oven, fridge/freezer and microwave providing the perfect place to entertain and cook that special meal. The open plan living area features a dining table and chairs, providing a space for everyone to gather.
The master bedroom has a luxury, muslin draped four poster bed and an en-suite shower room. The spacious second bedroom has a double bed and single bed. The family bathroom provides a lavish style with its glamorous freestanding roll top bath and Italian floor tiles making it the perfect setting to relax after a day of exploring the Island.
The entrance to the apartment is private and spacious providing room to store bikes.

Car parking at the property
There is roadside parking outside of the property and is available on a first come first served basis. Or alternatively there is a pay and display car park at the end of the road where tourist parking permits can be purchased.
Easy access inside and outside of apartment
Bishops Retreat is on the ground floor with one step up to the front door. There is a slope to access the apartment from the High Street or steps with handrails.
