Ben Stubbs is an English singer-songwriter, musician, producer and recording artist based here in Ventnor. His main music style combines an eclectic range of genres into thought-provoking original songs that seamlessly blend pop, rock and country with a strong singer-songwriter vibe. A melodic, lyric driven sound which is heavily influenced by great songwriters like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Jack Johnson, Neil Young and John Mayer.
Ben works as a full-time professional gigging musician, performing at local bars, music venues, weddings and other private functions.
Spurred on by the 2020 pandemic, Ben started work on his debut album “Light of My Life” (released 19th May 2023); a dedication to his long term partner, Abi. Collaborating with some of the Island’s top musicians, “Light of My Life” was recorded at Empire Sound in Newport and yielded two singles. “Driving in The Dark” (April 2023) and “Your Life is OK” (May 2023). The album has attracted global attention from music reviewers, radio presenters and playlisters including several features on BBC Introducing. “Light of My Life” is available to listen to on all streaming services.
Over the course of his career, Ben has racked up an impressive CV of performances including Kashmir Cafe at the Isle of Wight Festival, two headline shows at Strings Venue, Acoustic Originals at Quay Arts, Cowes Fringe, a sold out show at Monkton Arts and a mini-tour and he has supported Tony Wright of Terrorvision, Toploader, and Jesse Roper.
