Weddings and Private Parties
Appuldurcombe House is set within 300 acres. The views are very special as Appuldurcombe is one of the listed parks of Great Britain, designed by Capability Brown.
We we are a SATURDAY ONLY venue! Our normal wedding season runs from May to September, as heating will be required outside these months.
Wedding Ceremonies, receptions and parties can be held in the House or in a marquee on the front lawn. The Drawing Room (10.3m x 5.75m) can seat around 80 comfortably. Receptions in the Great Hall (16.7m x 6.9m) can cope with 120 on round tables or up to 120 on long tables. By adding a marquee this can be extended up to 200.
It is also possible to get married outside (as long as there is a suitable inside contingency for wet weather !! ). The site of our original library to the side of the ruins is lovely. Although a 'room' it is considered outdoors because there is no roof. Outside ceremonies can be held anywhere on site, so on lawns is also possible.
The whole site is licensed for music, dancing and for the sale of alcohol until 12pm midnight. The house is closed to the public only on the Saturday, but is open to the public for free the rest of the week and we only have one wedding at a time!
Come and have a tour of the house and grounds. Just email James Owen on the email link below, to arrange a visit and talk through your plans. Please check availability first on our website, and read through the information provded there.
