ABOUT ME
Hello, I’m Louis — great to e-meet you! (Al is my Ex Military Nickname by the way!)

An “overlander” of over 11 years.

I’m a one-man band (pun intended) based on the beautiful Isle of Wight, specifically in Wroxall.

Contrary to local legend, I don’t have six fingers, or my guitar licks might be more impressive! I’m originally from Hartlepool, where I’ve picked up some quirky humour along the way - and yes we did hang a monkey.

My goal is to provide top-notch guitar tech services that enhance the performance and longevity of your instrument. As a passionate guitarist with a technical background from my time in the military, I’ve honed my skills working with some of the most advanced technology in the world.

I’ve been taking guitars apart for most of my adult life, learning maintenance skills the hard way. I’ve also completed several courses in basic luthiery and Seymour Duncan installations, I hold a technical degree in Marine Engineering, which makes tackling electronics a bit easier for me.

In my free time, I love noodling on the guitar and fixing up instruments. While I don’t claim to be a virtuoso, I know enough to get by! I’m also part of a local guitar group in Sandown IoW, where we do our best to honour classic songs (without too many mishaps).

I offer a comprehensive range of services, including string changes, setup adjustments, fret levelling, and electronics repair. If you’re looking for a humble guitar tech to help you get the most from your setup, feel free to reach out!

I offer convenient pick-up and drop-off service for your instrument before and after assessment and repairs. A small fee will apply to cover fuel and insurance. Alternatively, you’re welcome to bring your instrument to our location in Wroxall, where I’ll be happy to discuss all the details with you. Loan Guitars are available whilst you wait too!
